The MCEM 1 (Machine Carbine Experimental Model 1) was a 9 mm submachine gun of Australian origin. Its magazine was placed in the pistol grip very much like a Uzi and had a front pistol grip at the very end of the barrel underneath the muzzle. A similar weapon with the magazine inserted underneath was in existence[1].
